Eastern Sierra Shots
Some of my favorite shots are on this page. Not only for the shot itself, but the mood that arose from being a witness to ths beauty of the Sierra

The Hoisting Engine
If you were to look on that motor in the shack, you would see General Electric and what seems to be 1919. Difficult to see fron the Tioga Road, this shack is now just flattened wood. I first saw it still totally upright in 1978.
September 1999 Saddlebag lake
Mt. Dana seems to rise even more that usual with the help of the blue water and cloud cover. The afternoon got to be so nice that I waded into the 55 degree water just to get at the larger surface trout. The water taxi was still an hour away. Time to relax, catch and release.
Mono Lake May 1999
The Drive up from Orange County was a slow one due to the weather. No, not adverse weather, but from Randsburg all the way up, no dust, high wind or cold (best of all not too many people to molest the shoot)Just me and the Nikons. Although I have seen Mono in most all of her moods, this was the most peaceful shot I have of her.
Horseshoe Lake June 1999
Even with all the warning signs not to stay here too long due to excess C02. I stayed for an hour just to conpose this shot and the following. My intent was to expose both the beauty and the slow death happening here due to the high C02 here. What a sight for me to record.
Grove of Dead Trees
180 degrees from the last shot. Although a very nice shooting opportunity, the feeling here was that of unease. Geologically, how long before we have another Event that may take this area away from us?
Mono Craters at Sunset July 2000
The dirt road above the BP station at the base of the Tioga Road made dor a great Vista. I understand these are the oldest craters around.
Ellery Lake looking at the Crest July 1999
6:30 A.M. after picking up the last of my Granola Bar wrappers from my now shredded day pack (left out for the bears accidentally). I headed up the pass to see this. My day was now back on a positive note! On to the Tioga Lodge for Breakfast. Then over the Crest to the Granite Lakes

More shots coming!!!! Stay Tuned
